Have a Heart for Horses

Have a heart for horses,
they're sweet as can be,
you pet them,
ride them,
cuddle them,
love them!
Have a heart for horses.
Have a heart for horses,
white or black or brown,
palominos and appaloosas,
that pull carrriges into towns.
Have a heart for horses,
they do so much for you,
through paths
and streams
and villages,
horses will still love you.

Title: Flying With The Wind

I am on my horse and we are one.
We gallop toward the sun.
The rhythm of hoof beats echo on the ground,
And there is no greater sound.
The trees and meadows fly past,
And I wish that this moment would always last.
The wind rustles against my horse's mane;
The grass is dotted with dewy rain.
My breath stands cold in the air,
And the breeze rushes through my hair.
We finally reach the mountain face,
We remember and treasure our sunrise race.
And as the sun rises in glory,
I forget every trouble and worry.
My horse and I are one
Soon we shall race another sunrise run.

Which One,
Shall I buy?
The mare, the stallion,
The one with one-eye?
All are rescues,
Who need a home
And a person to love him ever so.
So which one?
That one!
His coat shines sleek back,
His eyes have spirit and spunk
I look past his flaws and know I have found him
The horse with one ear is my new stallion!

Leave Me now,
Before you make the choice to stay.
I want you to go back to where you came.
It's not safe here for a horse or man,
And I love you so dearly so Leave Me now,
Don't Stay!
I've never ridden you,
I know your heart though.
Enough to know I love you,
They might say I'm crazy,
But I love you just the same!
I will miss you forever,
'till my old age.
You have my heart now and always,
But right now your not safe.
I will spread the word of that fine mustang,
That helped me love and have joy again.
So my beautiful, I will help you, now.

Feel the ground under your hooves
Feel the breeze ruffle your mane
A four beat gallop
The freedom of loose rein
Breathe in
Feel the gentle pressure of a rider on your back
Feel the soft turf crumble under your hoof
Feel the horses behind you in a pack
Your rider urges you forward
Feel the eagerness in her touch
Feel the pressure of her heels
The tightening of the reins in her clutch
Breathe out
Here the race comes to a close
Your neck and neck
But the other one knows
At the end of the chute
There is one ahead
A cherry bay blur
Is the one that had been bred
Breathe in
The winner now crosses the line
Brought up seconds behind
The feeling of winning very divine
Breathe out
You have won!
Now rest
You are done

The Legend Of Mustang

A black stallion
heart of gold
windswept mane
caught to be sold
hooves are no use
against cruel ropes and steel
his herd and his foals
the saddness they feel
dragged across deserts
and a cactus-covered plain
a lassoo round his neck
his soul lashed with the pain
of losing his family
to humans with greed
who seperate loved ones
and take more than they need
remember the mustang
his soul gallops on
through the oceans and deserts
to where he belongs
